SJEAS

Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studeies (SJEAS)

The Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies (SJEAS), published since 2001 by the Academy of East Asian Studies (AEAS) at Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea, is a double-blind peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal dedicated to East Asian Studies. With original contributions from all over the world, the SJEAS enjoys a strong reputation and increasing readership in its field. The SJEAS is published biannually in April and October and has been selected for coverage in Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), SCOPUS, EBSCO and the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS).

Sponsored by the AEAS, the SJEAS shares its academic goal of promoting interdisciplinary research related to the region of East Asia, publishing both articles that stay within traditional disciplinary or regional boundaries, and works that explore the commonalities and contrasts found in East Asian countries or take an interdisciplinary approach.

The SJEAS publishes articles, research notes, and book reviews related to East Asia and seeks original academic papers that delve into the past and present of the region, primarily within the field of the humanities. Research areas the SJEAS concentrates on include anthropology, archaeology, art, culture, history, literature, philosophy, and religion. Papers on the social sciences are also welcomed as long as topics and methodologies benefit and broaden perspectives on the humanities.
